I have long said that in general Africans are not recognised nor given prominence for whom they are and neither for what they achieve. It is high time that Africa is given the opportunity to compete and excel on a level playing field with all nationalities. Africa has so much to offer the world in every walk of life and has many achievements to its credit.

Your event is so important in demonstrating to the world that Africa has knowledge, skills, ability and integrity. All too often we are misunderstood and suppressed from being the best that we can be. When one of us makes a mistake - as we will from time to time like everybody else - it is not right that we are all tarred with the same brush - British Embassy Visa departments take note.
